General Questions

  • What is the Student Technology Center?

    The Student Technology Center (STC) is designed to help students fulfill their academic projects effectively, and to provide additional technological support outside the classroom. We also help the faculty by supporting the needs of both their classroom and students.

  • What support and services does the Student Technology Center offer?

    The Student Technology Center is here to provide students with one-on-one tutoring in numerous different programs. Additionally, we sell paper products that will help to complete any project.

Equipment Questions

  • What kind of digital equipment does the Student Technology Center have for checkout?

    You can find a list of the equipment and check out restrictions under the Digital Media Equipment.

  • How long can I check out a piece of digital equipment?

    This can be answered in the Digital Equipment Policy page.

  • Do I have to pay to check out any of the digital equipment?

    No, you do not. As long as the terms and conditions are accepted, and the student (faculty included) have been approved, the check out is free of charge.

Service Questions

  • Can you do my project for me?

    We cannot do your assignment for you, but we can teach you how to do something and help you along the way with any questions you might have.

  • Does the Student Technology Center have a color printer?

    Yes!

  • Can I print an 11 x 17 document in the Student Technology Center?

    Unfortunately, we cannot print 11 x 17 in the Student Technology Center.

  • Are there scanners in the Student Technology Center?

    Yes, we do have scanners that are free of use to students and teachers.

  • How do I print?

    Once you have completed your assignment, you will want to select File, Print, and choose either STC Color or STC Black and White.

  • How do I use the die cuts?

    In order to use the die cuts, you will need to have paper, and ask for a tray from one of the lab assistants. In order to cut a shape out of your page, you will lay one of the die cuts on the tray with the foam side up, and place your paper on top of it. From there, you simply turn the crank to send the tray through and cut out your shape.

  • Do I have to pay to use the die cut machine?

    You do not have to pay to use the die cut machine. However, if you do not have your own paper, you will need to pay for that.

  • How do I bind my project?

    You bind your project by using our binding machine which is located on the counter in the corner of the STC. You can purchase different sizes of bindings here as well, and we will clip the excess ends off for you.

  • Can we change the blade on the mat cutter?

    Yes, you can change the blade if an employee agrees that the blade is dull and is not useable. Therefore, please do not ask to change the blade with every new person who comes in with a project.

  • How will my lamination be measured once it is complete?

    We measure your laminated project by the foot. We must charge a minimum of one foot which is $0.94 plus tax.

  • Do I have to pay for the spray when I mount my projects?

    Yes, you do need to pay for the spray. The price will depend on the size of the project that you are spraying.
