7:30 PM to 9:00 PM - Snow 269 Recital Hall: BYU-Idaho Department of Music faculty member, Matt Moore, will perform a tuba recital at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23rd in the Snow Recital Hall. He will be joined by Dr. Jon Klein on French Horn and Dr. Stephen Thomas on Piano to perform a varied program that will include works from the Romantic and 20th Century time periods. Composers to be featured are Robert Schumann, Vincent Persichetti, and Alec Wilder. The performance is free and open to the public. Event dress is appropriate.

6:00 PM to 7:30 PM - Snow 269 Recital Hall: The students of the Chamber Brass ensemble will present some of the master pieces of the brass ensemble repertoire on Friday, May 25 at 6:00PM in the Snow Recital Hall. Included on the program is Russian composer Victor Ewald's Quintet No. 1. Ewald was a very well respected civil engineer who also had great talents in music. He was heavily influenced by the five great Russian composers Mily Balakirev, Alexander Borodin, César Cui, Modest Mussorgsky and Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov, known as The Mighty Handful. Also included on the program will be one of the great 20th century works for brass, German-born American composer Ingolf Dahl's Music for Six Brass Instruments. Admission is free and classroom dress is appropriate.

Katie McLin is professor of violin and Andrew Campbell directs the Collaborative Piano Program, both at Arizona State University’s School of Music. This performance will be an all-Prokofiev program, including the dark, somber F Minor Sonata and the joyful and well-loved D Major Sonata for violin and piano. 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM - Snow 136 Barrus Concert Hall: The BYU-Idaho Department of Music presents its annual Spring Choirfest June 1 at 7:30 in the Barrus Concert Hall. The Choirfest will feature the Men’s Choir, Women’s Choir, the University Choir, and the Women’s Glee. The concert will feature music of many styles and moods: hymn arrangements, folk songs and spirituals, and choral classics. “There should be something for everyone to enjoy. This concert gives listeners an opportunity to sample the sound of all the choirs on campus in one evening,” says Randall Kempton, Director of Choral Activities. The Men’s Choir is directed by Dr. Kevin Brower; the Women’s Choir and University Choir by Dr. Eda Ashby; and the Women’s Glee by Rebecca George. FA-100 approved. Event dress requested. Tickets are $6 public/$3 students.
