A number of campus construction projects have recently been completed with others slated for completion in the coming months.
Austin Remodel: Phase one of the remodel of the Austin Building was completed right before the start of the Winter 2018 Semester, just in time for YSA wards to meet in the Austin for the first Sunday of the semester. The remodel included converting two of the large computer labs on the second floor into two larger rooms to be used as chapels. Those rooms can subsequently be converted into four separate classrooms using Skyfold doors.
Phase two is now underway with both demolition and new construction taking place. The second phase includes a remodel of room 105, the large auditorium, which will be divided into two classrooms. The project will also replace and upgrade welding booths and remodel the bathrooms on the first floor. The projected finish date is June 2018.
Smith 240: This project involved converting a large lecture room into four smaller classrooms using Skyfold doors. The renovated space was available for use at the start of the Winter 2018 Semester.
Kimball Financial Offices: Financial and Accounting Services moved into their renovated space on the first floor of the Kimball Building over the Christmas break, after spending the Fall 2017 Semester in the basement of the Manwaring Center. The new space was designed to accommodate additional student employees and improve the workflow of financial processes.
Hart Wellness Center: Construction crews have finished putting the final touches on the expansion of the Wellness Center in the Hart Building. The former locker rooms located on the first floor, underneath the main lobby, have been converted into additional office space that opened earlier this month
