How to Apply

Assuming that "Candidate" status is acquired in the spring semester of 2014, we will begin to accept applications.  We will accept applications until one week after spring graduation each year.

Statement of Nondiscrimination:  BYU-Idaho considers nondiscrimination to be fundamental to its mission, goals, and objectives. The university is committed not to unlawfully discriminate in the administration of its educational policies and practices for all individuals who meet University and department academic requirements and agree to abide by the University's standards of conduct and behavior.

Step 01 (Check to see if you qualify to apply):

Students applying to the BYU-I PTA program must meet the following qualifications.  Check to see if you are eligible to apply:

  • You must demonstrate at least one semester with 12 credits or more.  Even if you have all the pre-requisites, you will NOT be a qualified candidate if you cannot demonstrate successful completion of at least 12 credits in one semester.
  • Overall GPA must be 3.0 or higher.  You must demonstrate a minimum of a "C" in pre-requisite courses.
  • You must be able to graduate from the PTA program with 120 credits or less. So, consider this limit when applying. CLICK HERE to see a listing of all PTA pre-requisite courses and program courses.  This will help you figure out if you can graduate with the 120 credit limit.
  • Students who already have a college degree are not eligible to apply.

If you are eligible to apply, continue on to step 02...
