Students participating in commencement

Commencement is the beginning of the celebration for all graduates as they mark this milestone in their academic career. Family and friends, faculty/staff and administrators can witness this joyous occasion as graduates, dressed in their caps and gowns, walk in a procession into the main auditorium of the BYU-Idaho Center. Degrees are conferred and attendees receive counsel and recognition from the University President, a member of the Board of Trustees or its designee, and other guests. Separate Convocation ceremonies are held by college where the celebration continues as graduates are individually recognized, which is not possible at the larger university-wide Commencement ceremony.
