Student Board Of Directors
Created For Students By Students

Student Board of Directors (SBOD)
University Food Services has organized a “Student Board of Directors” to better meet the needs of the student body.
What is the Student Board of Directors (SBOD)?
The Student Board of Directors is a group of students who represent the student body in collaboration with University Food Services; thereby helping University Food Services match the diverse food service needs on our campus.
What is the Purpose of the Board?
The Board will play a key role in voicing the concerns and desires of students, and the University in general to Food Services. It will help Food Services fulfill student needs, creating a beneficial partnership.
What is in it for me as a member of the Board?
While it is not a paid position, there are many amazing benefits to being a part of the Student Board of Directors. You will receive invaluable experience working with our Food Services Management Team, Culinary Team, and other organizations on campus. You will gain exciting marketing experience, new friends, and will have the opportunity to apply for the National Student Board of Directors with our partner Sodexo. You will be a part of trying new food items, and being instrumental in creating changes in University Food Services that will make every day a better day in the lives of your peers. These are only a few of the many benefits that highlight this marvelous
opportunity.
Who runs the Board?
The University Food Services Marketing Coordinator will appoint a Board Chairman, and he/she will facilitate the meetings. The Food Services Director, General Manager, and Marketing Coordinator will be available at meetings and by appointment throughout the year to answer questions or address concerns, however, this is a student led organization.
What will be required of me?
Board Members will be required to fulfill assignments from the Board Chairman in between the Board’s weekly meetings, ranging from organizing focus groups to being “Secret Shoppers”. These assignments will allow you to gather student opinions in areas we are excelling in and receive feedback for areas we need to improve in.
Who will be on the Board?
The Board will consist of 12-15 motivated students
representing various groups that may include:
-SRC (Student Representative Council)
-I-Prepare
-Freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes
-Married/un-married students
-On-campus/off-campus housing
-Student Activities
-Campus Associations
-Student media (Scroll/I-News, etc.)
Applications will be accepted from all students. You do not have to be affiliated with specific organizations to apply or be accepted as a Board Member.
