Chad & Bethany Packard
Dallas/Fort Worth, TX
High School sweethearts, Elder Chad & Sister Bethany Packard grew up in Boise, Idaho. Married in 1987, and sealed in the Oakland, CA temple, they have a blended family of 6 wonderful, fun, and seriously completive and creative children; three boys and three girls. Their tribe also consists of 18 darling (and they mean darling) grandchildren!
Early in their marriage Elder Packard owned an insurance agency in the Sacramento, CA area. After some prodding by his father, and the Lord, they felt impressed to sell their business there and move to Dallas, Texas where he joined his father’s orthodontic business as general manager in 1993.
With three offices at that time, Elder Packard had big goals, implemented his plan, and and grew the practice to 17 offices in the Dallas/Fort Worth area over the next decade, making it the largest privately held orthodontic concern in the nation for some time.
Sister Packard worked with him in the business fabricating retentive and functional orthodontic appliances in a lab in their home.
In 2009 the Packards were approached by a General Authority serving in the Europe East Area Presidency about their availability to serve a full-time mission for the Lord. Though not yet retired they stepped out in faith, serving in the great Russia Moscow Mission from Feb 2010 to Dec 2011. Serving missions was always in their life plan, looking back they are glad the Lord chose to call them when it seemed impossible. That left plenty of room for them to see Him perform miracles in their behalf. They would not trade that time with those wonderful people for anything in the world. (Elder Packard served his mission as a young man in Quito, Ecuador. And still speaks great Spanish.)
August 2017 the Packard’s sold their business and are now retired. Commercial real estate ventures keep Elder Packard from getting bored. So does his love of music (he has a beautiful 1st tenor voice), sports, and involvement in Boy Scuts of America. Sister Packard is an Admin for Mormon Women Stand, an online blog and social media presence - where she writes articles and creates other content, handles attire for Millennial Choirs & Orchestras systemwide, and loves interior design and macaroni & cheese. Together, singing with MCO, travel, and home and yard projects are favorites. They love movies and laughing.
Church service includes Bishopric Counselor (family Ward and YSA Ward), EQ Pres, High Council, Stake Mission President, Seminary teacher, temple Ordinance worker, and currently the Ward Young Men’s President for Elder Packard. For Sister Packard: Ward & Stake Young Women’s President, Seminary & Institute teacher, Gospel Doctrine teacher, Stake Music Chairman, temple ordinance worker, and currently Stake Public Affairs – Media Specialist.
The Packards are anxious to get to know you and help you on your education and career path.
