Counseling Center

The Counseling Center invites matriculated students taking at least 6 credits to schedule a brief, initial consultation with one of our counselors to discuss your mental health concerns and receive a recommendation for services.  In order to meet the high demand for services, the Counseling Center offers a short-term therapy model that is focused on being helpful within the framework of several semesters. Dean of Students Office

The Dean of Students Office acts as an advocate for you the student. If you need help or have experienced an unusual hardship, either physically or other, contact our office. We are here to assist you in finding a solution to the problems you are experiencing.


Services Include:

  • Background checks
  • Dean's certifications
  • Death of a loved one
  • Help with sexual misconduct or title IX issues
  • Missing class for medical reasons
  • Persisting trouble with a professor or campus office
  • Serious illness

Disability Services

If you have a qualifying disability, you can submit current clinical/medical documentation identifying your diagnosis, and how that diagnosis impacts one or more of your major life activities. Upon receipt of the documentation, the Disability Services Office will discuss with you  your individual needs and will then determine what reasonable accommodations may be needed to ensure that you have equal access to the educational and administrative services and programs offered at BYU-Idaho.

Student Health Center

The Student Health Center (SHC) provides comprehensive services to matriculating students and their dependents. The Health Center is staffed by Physicians, Mid-Levels (Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners), and Registered Nurses. All are trained in primary care medicine. Our goal is to provide the primary care support you need to succeed in your studies. We care for most common conditions and will assist with referrals to specialists or to the emergency room as needed. We do not intend to replace the care from your home physician but strive to support that care when possible at a primary care level.
